About The South Placer Rotary Club

As a members of South Placer Rotary Club, together we do meaningful work for the community. We will have a supportive atmosphere as we become friends, working together to build an engaging club environment, partnerships within the city, county, school district, business community and regionally with our Brewfest summer celebration. Rotary clubs are often the best kept secret in a town. However the work we do for Rocklin might be more recognizable than you think.

As a part of our effort to serve our community under the Rotary motto of Service Above Self, the Rotary Club of South Placer County is offering annual sponsorships to have exposure at our weekly club meetings, community events and our annual major Rocklin Brewfest fundraiser on the first Saturday of June each year. We have given, through our communities support, over $350,000 back to our community.

A few of our initiatives:

The Sierra College Foundation: Each year we donate to the Sierra College Foundation Taste of Excellence to support Guardian Scholars. The Guardian Scholars Program (GSP) at Sierra College supports the academic and personal success of students who have been part of the foster care system.

PolioPlus: The ﬁght to eradicate polio worldwide through the Rotary International Foundation. Since the PolioPlus Program’s inception in 1985, more than 2 billion children have received the oral polio vaccine.

Hooked on Fishing: Hooked on Fishing is an annual event where the club takes children ﬁshing in the Rocklin and Lincoln area. This event teaches children the value of patience, wildlife conservation, and social interaction.

Scholarship Programs: South Placer County Rotary Club provides annual student college scholarships, to help selected students afford the rising costs of college tuition.

Aerospace Museum: Recognize early stars at the 7th and 8th grade level who excel in math and science. Work through the schools to identify 30 girls and 30 boys who test high in math and science and oﬀer a "Day in Air and Space" at the Aerospace Museum of California.

International Projects: Rotary Club of South Placer sponsors an orphanage in San Felipe, Baja California, Mexico. Known as Sunshine Hacienda, the program is an orphanage and safe home for abandoned, orphaned, neglected or abused children. We are also currently providing assistance with other Rotary Clubs through the Gracie/Kuchy Sanchez Youth Education Fund, helping with uniforms and school supplies each year with their school.

Rocklin Feed My Starving Children MobilePack: The Rotary Club of South Placer led other area clubs to make a significant investment for the last five years, helping to pack more than 3 million meals for malnourished children around the world – and giving nearly 3,000 local volunteers, including many children, the opportunity to be part of this unique effort.

Little Free Library: An ongoing project partnered with our Interact Clubs of Whitney & Victory high Schools where we have set up 2 libraries in the community where children are allowed to take a book to read then return when done. There are presently more than 32 thousand of these book exchanges around the world, bringing curbside literacy home and sharing over 1 million books annually.

Christmas Baskets: An annual project where we put together baskets for about 15-20 “less fortunate” families identified by the Rocklin School District. Items from Socks to Footballs to Bicycles.

Throughout the year we do much with the acceptance of grant requests and other supporting other community needs that come to our attention. We would welcome your partnership. The Rotary Club of South Placer County is a 501(c)(3) organization and your donations are tax deductible.
